Moran is the largest eye care center in the Mountain West, and is nationally ranked as one of the best eye care centers in the nation. Their research labs are translating discoveries into new therapies for diseases, including glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration. This issue of their magazine includes stories on new research and the "pipeline" that hastens research from the lab to patients' bedsides.
The cover and accompanying interior spot illustrations allude to research for a new procedure for Macular Degeneration, which involves injecting a protective gene, using a benign virus to deliver the gene to the necessary parts of the eye. As always with Moran Eye Center, it's as fascinating and fun to learn about the miracles of science they are able to achieve, as it is to do the work.
